who we are

Everyone has the desire to reach for the stars. Unfortunately everyone does not have the resources or the guidance to understand how to reach up. Our goal at Home to Ghana is to empower people to reach up, have dreams, plan and work to attain their ambitions.

VISION STATEMENT

Home to Ghana will improve the quality of life for impoverished people throughout the world in order that they can meet their full potential.

MISSION STATEMENT

Home to Ghana is committed to increasing the quality of life for people throughout the world by ensuring access to a safe living environment with food, clean and safe drinking water, medical services, and educational opportunities.

HISTORY

The seed for Home to Ghana was planted in 1999 after Dr. Earnest Webb and his wife Rosetta Webb traveled to the country of Ghana, West  Africa. They took the group cultural tour to learn more about the continent of Africa and the country of Ghana in particular. Ghana and the spirit of the people inspired Dr. Earnest Webb and Mrs. Webb to return to Ghana to provide medicine and  school supplies. They also consulted with residents of Ghana to develop programs to help break the cycle of poverty.

In 2006 Dr. and Mrs Webb worked with residents of  a mountain top village named Pepease and helped establish a credit union. The people in Pepease continue to pool their money in order to provide loans to small business entrepreneurs in their village.

After numerous working trips to Ghana a board of directors was established and 501(c)(3) status was granted to Home to Ghana.  The organization continues to provide services to the people of Ghana including but not limited to providing scholarships to students, developing a feeding program for preschool children, providing training for students to learn the skill of painting and many more programs designed to foster independence. In addition, the organization has plans to provide services to students in the United States and other countries.
